ASTYM

This advanced form of soft tissue mobilization addresses soft tissue dysfunction resulting from injury, overuse, or surgery. The use of specialized tools and specific training allows the certified practitioner to effectively address the target tissues as well as areas that have compensated from the dysfunction. ASTYM is an evidence based approach. The protocols used have been studied and proven safe and effective in resolving tendinopathies, post-surgical scarring, and other soft tissue problems.

This approach stimulates the body to heal the underlying problem and create healthier tissue. ASTYM often works on unresponsive cases where other treatments have failed. A customized stretching and strengthening program is integrated to complement the manual work and assist in the remodeling of tissue. The continuation of work, recreational, and athletic activity is encouraged and helps promote optimum healing.

Kate uses ASTYM with other manual therapy techniques including soft tissue mobilization, fascial release, myofascial decompression (cupping), manual traction, joint mobilization, trigger point release, and manual stretching for an integrative approach.
